I would have been in my 3rd quarter at Ai Seattle, but due to a family emergency I decided it was wise to support my family in their time of need and missing a lot of time would hurt my 3.8 GPA and could have turned into me losing my G.I. Bill benefits if I didn't withdraw before the quarter started. College will still be there when things settle.
My time there at the Art Institute, I've been learning a great deal, and have a very promising future in the Gaming Industry. I'm in the perfect place for it, and I have one very awesome idea/story I want to flesh out and tell in the video game medium. I won't be posting anything about it, however, I will let everyone know my progress with it. I plan to pitch it to someone one day with the help of a couple of folks, I'm am quite positive this idea will catch on and be mass produced for a console. And I'm not saying that because I'm a college student and I'm full of my self. No. I have a damn good grasp of what works and what doesn't in both Marketing and Pop Culture. I'm not your typical student, that's for damn sure. My age and prior experience should prove this.
So since I'm taking the quarter off, I've been researching, and playing a lot of great games and not so great games. Playing not so great games is a great way to learn what NOT to do, and what game devices and mechanics work and what doesn't.
List of Games I've been playing:
Star Wars Kinect
Sesame Streets: Once Upon A Monster
Batman: Arkham City
Assassins Creed: Brotherhood
Splintercell: Double Agent
Castlevania: Lord of Shadows
Brutal Legend
And games on the PSN
Games on the list to play:
Battlefield 2: Modern Combat
Red Dead Redemption
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2
Dead Island
Wolverine
Spiderman III
Captain America
(more will probably be added to this list)
I still refuse to play any MMOs. I just don't feel like shelling out the cash to buy the game, and then pay a monthly fee along with internet. Fuck that. I'm not as gullible as the masses, but I cannot deny the amount of money that is generated from the game type.
Then again... I'm the asshole that pays a fuck load for the Star Wars Kinect Edition. lol so much for being a cheap nerd. Perhaps I'm just a console snob. lol
